Addiction to the Web – Really? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Opinion pollster SodaHead surveyed 602 visitors to its site Feb. 16. about whether they experience Internet addiction, and found that many people are self-diagnosed addicts.

Key word here – SELF diagnosis. Do most know what addiction is? Is being addicted to being online real? I watched a rerun of Third Rock from the Sun the other day where Dick discovered the internet in an episode from 1999. He was on for days but then discovered that he had forgotten “there are real people on this planet”.

Looking at the numbers I would say it makes perfect sense that if you have a real addiction such as smoking, the idea of being addicted to being online is taken more in a real evaluated context. These types of studies and such have been around for quite a while. As long as the web actually.
