It certainly sounded like your wife was singled out to make a point! It was rude and does not help anything except his ego.

Off topic a bit:
The days of hiding a SLR in your boot or purse are gone when attending concerts, now that almost everyone carries a smartphone/camera. However, smartphones take pretty awful and indistinguishable images anyway, so why bother. I've stopped. Unless you're a keener in the front row, the image quality is just not worth keeping or even sharing for that matter. If it's about sharing an image on a social site, I would rather post a few complimentary words of praise about the artist rather than upload a crappy picture.

My advice: Take binoculars for the up close 'memory' shots. (Memory in your head, not memory in your phone) Not enough people take binoculars. By doing this and listening to the music, it will be more enjoyable with a sharper visual memory. It's more effective, than trying to convince your smartphone to create Rolling Stone quality images.

And yes, I walked out of the Gordon Lightfoot concert. Different reason and topic. ;-P

Thanks Todd - wonderful review (disclaimer: I am the author of the book). I love the picture. Maybe one thing to add regarding the footnote. If one uses the digital version one will find way more links enclosed... we had to remove those as half of the page became full of footnotes.

My first response to your new design was … much better. I don't know what the spots represent and the line though.

I do feel they are a little overwhelming and sit too tight to the descenders.

Grant I was playing around a bit with shadow and then thought to try this approach, so the grey is not so much a shadow but an underneath element.

The dimensions of the logo I am trying to work with are square as they work better in thumbnails.

The brown is related to the colour tone I have on my blog and other channels.

The name comes from when I was starting out in '94 and thinking of how the web might work as a multitude of information. A fabric of information if you will. So the name stuck and have it placed in a lot of places.

Thanks for the feedback. Just a first kick in any case.

It reminds me of a barking dog. Just missing some teeth. I don't see a need for the hard drop shadow. Why two dark colours? Black and sepia. I also find the graphic too large in relation to the text. In fact, the position emphasizes 'text' more than 'texture'.And to be honest Todd, I never quite understood the name 'textureweb'. Texture? Every time I see it, I think of fabric. Is it weaving digital marketing into all mediums? Sort of? It may be helpful to know and have it relate visually to the graphic.

Now that I trashed your brand, you can trash mine...wait, I don't have one.

But seriously, use a a bold contrasting colour, so it does not look like a sepia tone print. I'm not feeling the design bro. s o r r r r r y

Are you still my friend? ;D

I so agree. Let's all go back to the 50s! Said no woman - EVER.

It's insulting to both genders, and just in general, to our collective intelligence. Personally, it's kinda hard to wrap my head around the fact that people are still buying into this type of 'throwback' advertising.

It's the 21st century, people!

Curious to know, what was the timing between posts? I'm sure a good portion of his followers would catch each successive post and if you saw one, but not the other you might just say, "cool NPH pic, he's a funny guy" and move on, but why not. Social media is totally open to creativity and reaching an audience on a more personal level than press junkets or articles in entertainment magazines.
