Pittsburg Dad Show How to Be a Big Fish.

YouTube allows for the average person now to become somewhat of a celebrity, even if the reach is on a more local or regional scale. Pittsburg Dad is a web sitcom (categorized so because of the 80s style laugh track) which reaches to those of the Pittsburg community – be they still in the area, or have an affinity for the city or both. The success of the show can be seen not only in the subscriptions, partner status and video views, but the ability to attract local big names such as Steelers coash Mike Tomlin.

The writing is pretty on the mark from what I see, though I am no expert on the local dialect or some of the stranger local anomalies that are showcased. The real story here is the old adage of a big fish in a (relatively speaking) small pond and how that can happen through social networks that are video based. This is a far cry from the old local shows on the local cable station. The use of technology today that is accessable both in real terms and monetaril speaking beats the hell out of production values even 10 years ago on the local cable.

So live your dream. Be that star. Be not afraid that you have only 1398 views. That is probably more than the local Riverdale High school report gets on channel 3 on Tuesdays at 7. At a running time of under five minutes, the real star on Pittsburg Dad is the writing. Keep that in mind when you start your show efforts.
