Facebook Monster Ads Motivated by IPO?

Until now, when you were not logged into Facebook and went to the home, you got a pretty straightforward login box with information on Facebook (what it is etc) or the new timeline.

Now with pretty much the entire English speaking world knowing WTF Facebook is – even if they are not using it or on it – and the Timeline now well dispersed and educated to users, Facebook is looking to prove it’s advertising revenue with monster ads on the login page with preview advertising based on new Page timelines. This is sure to appeal to mass brands, but what about those who are looking to get a return on their investment?

Since you have to be logged off Facebook to get these ads, it is going to be interesting to see if they return any real ROI for the advertisers and revenue for Facebook. I rarely log off. Do you? If you don’t then I guess you won’t be seeing these any time soon.

Which is my point.

Still interesting move.

Oh and that original login screen – yes you can still get it, but it’s behind the ad, so just use the blue bar login and save your close click.
